It is a deep and narrow gorge in the Gurvan saikhan mountains of southrn Mongolia.The valley is named after the lammergeier,which is called Yol in Mongolia. The lammargeier is an old world vulture hence the name is often translated to valley of the vultures or valley of eagles.The valley is located within Gobi gurvan saikhan national park. The area , as part of Gobi desert sees little precipitation. But Yol valley is a deepice field. This mountain is sacred mountain,is located area of Bayan unjuul soum of Tuv province, about 150 km from Ulaanbaatar. The peak is 1686 above sea level. Around the mountain has many caves and springs and for diverse wild sheep, red deer and ibex and many other animals.
The nature reserve is located in Gurvan saikhan soum of Dundgobi province. Baruunsaikhan and Orlog mountains areas are included in special zone for protecting their specific landscape formed over thousands of years, wildlife species and plants which are found there. The zone covers an area of 8776 hectares which is 5.1 percent of the total area of the nature reserve. The Ikh gazriin Chuluu Mountain of granite rock in the Gobi desert with a peak of 1706 m high.
