
Traveling Mongolia on horseback is a real taste of Mongolia. On this horse riding tour, we will head to Naiman nuur (eight lakes) lie 2400 m above sea level in the Khangai mountain range. While you leading to there, it takes you to an inspiring parts of the country letting you to gallop freely through the endless steppe without boundaries. And surrounding eight lakes is so beautiful landscape for riding or hiking too, After long way to ride horse, sometimes hiking more comfort. The eight lakes are called Shireet, Mukhar, Khaliut, Bugat, Khaya, Duruu, Khuis, Bayn located 500 m to 3 km to each other. A volcanic eruption created the lakes. 11500 hectares area of the eight lakes has been protected under state protection since 1992.

Day 1 Our guide and driver are picking you up from your stay place. Leave the UB to go to Kharkhorum, an ancient city. The Kharkhorum city was the capital of the Mongol empire. It has existed in the capital city for 140 years. After the move of the Mongolian capital to Beijing, and the fall of the Empire, Karakorum was abandoned and then destroyed by Manchurian soldiers in 1388. Today, in the vast valley of the Orkhon River, the awe-inspiring ancient monastery Erdenezuu coexists with Kharkhorin town. See some valuable religious artifacts in the monastery museum, view its stunning architecture and the Kharakhorum Museum display remnants of the ancient city. We’ll first visit the Erdenezuu monastery which is surrounded by 400:400 m of walls with 108 stupas. By this time the main part of the monastery worked as a museum, where Buddhist artworks and facilities were shown. And then we’ll dine at a local restaurant and go to the new museum.

Day 2 This morning, we are heading to the Orkhon valley. Which is except for the heritage of history and is so fitting for riding a horse. And we’ll hike to the waterfall. It is the biggest fall in Mongolia, it rises to an imposing height of 20 meters and its width is 10 meters. But it depends on the preparation of an average year. Admire the lot of water from various vantage points next to the gorge. Feel the fine spray and hear a thunderous roar as water crashes over 20 m into a swirling mass in the gorge below. The fall is naturally the most impressive after heavy rain.

Day 3 Join a local specialist this morning for a horse trek to the Eight lakes. This area of Naiman Nuur (eight lakes) formed the volcanic eruptions that occurred all along the centuries. The park is 2400 m above sea level.

Day 4 We launch our epic journey through the Tsagaanazarga and inspiring landscapes. That beautiful mountain range is home to herds of yaks, scattered horses and sheep.

Day 5 This morning! I hope you already became good friends with your horse more than yesterday. So we’ll gallop today! Go back to some family in the waterfall by a different way. The feel is freedom above horseback and the fresh wind!

Day 6 Set off a journey to the Elsentasarkhai (mini Gobi). We’ll ride a camel with a local guide to the small sand dunes. The area is surrounded by sand dunes, hills, covered with rare bushes, and together presents a unique combination of mountains, forests and Gobi type landscape in one location. You can hike around the place if you want it. It is such an amazing place in the picture.

Day 7 Today is our last day of the tour and drive to the Khustai Nuruu protected area. The takhi, the last wild horse in the world, was well-known as a Przewalski’s horse had gone from the steppe of central Asia since the 1960’s. Since that time Takhi has lived in a zoo park around the world. The Khustai national park was established in order to host reintroduction project of Takhi in 1993. We’ll have lunch at the restaurant next to the park after we are able to find herds of takhi . And we go back to Ulaanbaatar.
